How to use this test
The PS5 controller test shows a DualSense's inputs live in your browser: Cross, Circle, Square and Triangle, L1 and R1, the travel of L2 and R2, the D-pad, Create and Options, the PS button, the touchpad click and both sticks. It measures stick drift and, in Chrome, Edge and Safari on Mac, tests the rumble motors.
Connect the DualSense with a USB-C cable, or pair it over Bluetooth by holding the PS and Create buttons until the light bar flashes. Press any button so the browser can see it, then press Start. Press every button, pull L2 and R2 slowly all the way, and leave the sticks alone for a few seconds to read drift.
What the results mean
Every button should light up when pressed. L2 and R2 should rise smoothly from 0 to 100%. Drift up to about 5% at rest is normal; above 15% you'll see movement in games. Browsers can't use the DualSense's adaptive triggers, detailed haptics, motion sensors or touchpad position, so those aren't tested here; the touchpad click is.
Common questions
Can I test the adaptive triggers or haptics in a browser?
No. Browsers only offer simple rumble for controllers. The adaptive triggers, detailed haptics, motion sensors and touchpad position aren't available to web pages; testing them needs a PS5 or a PC game that supports them.
Is my DualSense drifting?
Leave the sticks untouched and read the drift values. Up to about 5% is normal. If a stick reads higher and games move on their own, the stick is wearing; the stick drift test goes into more detail.
My DualSense isn't detected over Bluetooth.
Press a button after pairing, because browsers only show a controller once you've used it. If it still isn't listed, try a USB-C cable. If the buttons show up in an unusual order, the browser didn't recognize the layout; the test still shows every raw button.
