How to use this test

A full-screen yellow page for checking a display for stuck pixels and tint, or as a warm backdrop and soft light.

Press Go full screen and look across the display. Press Esc or click Exit full screen to return.

What the results mean

Yellow uses the red and green sub-pixels. A dark dot here that is fine on blue points to one of those two. A yellow screen also shows whether a warm-tint or night-light setting is active, because the color will shift towards orange.

Common questions

Why does the yellow look orange?

A night-light or warm color mode is probably on. Turn it off before judging color accuracy.

Can I use this as a reading light?

Yes. A warm color at medium brightness is easier on the eyes at night than a white screen.

Does yellow show dead pixels as well as white does?

Nearly. A dead pixel is dark on every color. White is the easiest to inspect; yellow is useful when you also want to check the red and green sub-pixels together.
