How to use this test

The CPS test counts how many times you can click in a fixed time and turns it into clicks per second. Pick 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 or 100 seconds; left and right clicks are counted separately, and your best score for each duration is saved in this browser.

Choose a duration, then click inside the gray area. The timer starts on your first click and stops on its own. Clicking with the right button is counted too, so you can test either side. Press Reset to go again, or change the duration to start a new series.

What the results mean

The number that matters is clicks per second. Most people land between 4 and 7 with normal clicking. Scores above 10 almost always come from jitter, butterfly or drag clicking rather than single clicks. Short runs give higher peaks; 10 seconds is the usual length for comparing with other people.

Slow≤ 3 clicks per second
Average≤ 5 clicks per second
Fast≤ 8 clicks per second
Very fast≤ 10 clicks per second
Elite (jitter or butterfly)Above 10 clicks per second

Common questions

What is a good CPS score?

Around 6 clicks per second is typical for a 10-second test. 8 or more is fast, and anything above 10 usually means a special technique such as jitter or butterfly clicking.

Does the mouse change the result?

A little. A light switch with a short travel helps, and a mouse that registers one click as two will inflate the number. If your score is suspiciously high, use the Mouse Tester to check for double clicks.

Why is my right-click count lower?

The right button on most mice uses the same switch as the left, but you're using a weaker finger. The two counts are shown separately so you can compare them and spot a button that is skipping clicks.
